Green Energi are working with an experienced, specialist renewable energy development company, who has a £100m investment from an international private equity firm who wish to secure a 25-year income stream. They are providing free solar packages to industry and creating income from Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) for the solar energy generated, replacing end users electricity bills at a significantly lower cost.

This is successfully running across the UK with systems installed and managed for GE Power, Iceland Foods Ltd and currently installing at Bentley Motor Works amongst other industry leaders. We are working with a very experienced management team who have delivered over 300 megawatts of solar energy in Europe, USA, and India.

GreenEnergi will manage the process end to end

After the premises roof has been structurally assessment, the system is installed and maintained for the next 25 years at no cost. The freeholder will be responsible for paying the PPA agreed tariff for the solar energy generated from the system, this can then be recharged onto the tenants at a profit but still at a rate significantly lower than their current energy provider. The PPA tariff is fixed and only goes up with inflation (RPI) giving energy security to the user.

Secure a higher rent

Recent RICS valuations on industrial sites show you are likely to secure a higher rent when its reviewed and the value of your property will increase. The tenant is greener, has cheaper energy on-site without the up-front capital costs or the headache of maintaining the system over the long term.

The Process:

  • The Company will assess the technical and economic feasibility of a solar energy development to identify the most cost effective and beneficial solution to meet the tenants needs. Once the system has been designed the Company will draw up agreements between both parties.
  • Once contracts are agreed and signed the Company will inform the local Council to make sure there are no planning problems and obtain Grid approval from the Distribution Network Operator on your behalf.
  • Installation takes on average 4 months and one installed is monitored, maintained and energy savings reviewed with you on an annual basis.

Requirements

To qualify, the guidelines are a minimum 6,500 sqft of roof space (approx. 600 sqm) a high user of electric min £5/7,000 per month. The roof must not be asbestos. To get a proposal in place we need;

  • Half hour usage data from the electric supplier
  • 12 months of the electric bills 
  • Site plan showing roof area 
  • Full company details of the of who will be taking the PPA agreement
